Red-eye correction detects and corrects red-eye during playback. In unusual cases where red-eye is not automatically detected, it can easily be corrected manually during playback mode.

And new Face Selector AF enables you to lock on and follow a specific face. The selected subject is tracked wherever the face moves in the frame. Simply press the Face Selector Button; then the selected face is double-framed and tracked when the face moves in the frame.

Competition hots up in local telecoms sector

THE competition within Malaysia's mobile space has turned up many notches over the past quarters and is expected to intensify further.

The biggest talk this time is the impending launch of DiGi.Com Bhd's third generation (3G) services and the implementation of mobile number portability (MNP) next month.

“DiGi has been very innovative in terms of offerings and marketing, therefore all eyes will be on DiGi late this year when it rolls out the 3G services,” an analyst said.

DiGi was the only mobile operator that did not receive a 3G licence or a WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) operating licence.

A woman walks past a poster promoting mobile phone communication in Kuala Lumpur. With the increased competitive pressure, telcos might lower their tariffs further to stimulate stronger call elasticity – AFP

However, it has since formed an alliance with TIME dotCom Bhd for the provision of 3G services.

Analysts said the much-anticipated liberalisation could shake up the whole mobile industry, shrinking customers' monthly bills and pressuring the profit margins of the mobile phone operators.

“With the increased competitive pressure, telecommunication companies (telcos) might lower the tariffs further to stimulate stronger call elasticity and be more innovative without pressuring their margins,” an analyst said.

With MNP coming into the picture, DiGi and rivals Maxis Communications Bhd and Celcom (M) Bhd are aggressively launching new services and promotions in the postpaid segment, hoping to retain customers and grab new ones.

“Although there could be a slight delay in the implementation of MNP, mobile operators have wasted no time. Mobile operators have repackaged and introduced new packages to entice customers,” an analyst said.

“The mobile market is showing a decline in growth, with operators focusing on the migration of customers from prepaid to postpaid. The implementation of MNP in the mobile sector could pave a growth path for the industry,” he added.

DiGi has recently launched four new postpaid plans – DG250, DG150, DG50 and DG20. The DG250 gives customers free local voice calls and text messaging to any network at anytime for RM250 a month.

Maxis Communications Bhd, which has been leading the very competitive industry with over 41% market share, has also repackaged its postpaid plans and introduced a new service, Hotlink 365, recently to cater to a segment of users with low usage.

Aseambankers Equity Research is optimistic on DiGi, as the mobile operator would have more potential to grow its postpaid segment when MNP is implemented.

Although U Mobile Sdn Bhd is a relatively new 3G service provider, the operator has managed to acquire 100,000 subscribers since its launch in April.

U Mobile chief executive officer Oh Kwang-Jin said the company was the only 3G operator in Malaysia that offered per-second billing across all its plans. “We want to keep our customers happy and we intend to continue to listen to them intently as part of our ongoing mission to provide the best value in the industry,” he said.

U Mobile now offers three postpaid plans. Although its coverage is centred in the Klang Valley, it is expanding its network to cover all major cities and towns nationwide.

OSK Research does not see any threat from U Mobile's newly-launched per-second billing prepaid plan on its competitors, although it believes the telco would have its niche appeal.

The brokerage said while U Mobile's prepaid plan offered the lowest charge at 0.8 sen per second, it would only be cheaper if calls lasted less than 24 seconds, whereas DiGi’s inhouse prepaid brand Happy, which is capped at 99 sen per call, would actually save more money for calls exceeding 125 seconds.

OSK said it was difficult for U Mobile to price its tariff too competitively, as it purchased wholesale minutes from Celcom at a higher rate.

On a different development, Maxis is said to be bidding the first right from Apple Inc to bring the iPhone into the local market.

Analysts said if Maxis successfully introduced the iPhone in Malaysia, the telco could gain an even bigger edge over rivals.

“If Maxis could secure the rights to bring iPhone in, it will be the perfect lure for mobile users to switch service providers. This will give Maxis access to a wider business user segment,” another analyst said.

As competition heats up and the date of MNP draws nearer, analysts expect more activities and roadshows by mobile operators in a bid to lure customers from competitors .

NEW York & Donald Trump

Donald Trump's name is synonymous with New York hustle and money at the turn of the 21st century. Trump started young in his father's New York real estate business, and by the 1970s had made himself a Manhattan deal-maker, somehow talking banks and city government into financing his ambitious developments. He built the grandiose Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in 1982, and soon he moved into the casino business in New Jersey. Outspoken and flamboyant, Trump became a favorite of the press, and his multiple marriages and divorces were regular tabloid fodder.

(Trump was married to model Ivana Zelnicek from 1977-92 and to Marla Maples from 1993-99. He married his third wife, Slovenian model Melania Knauss, on 22 January 2005.) Trump went suddenly on the skids in 1990, finding himself over $900 million in debt and facing bankruptcy. But ever the dealmaker, he rebounded; by the year 2000 he was again worth over a billion dollars. He talked publicly about running for the U.S. presidency the same year, then decided against it. In 2004 he began playing the demanding boss-man in the hit NBC reality series The Apprentice,. ("You're fired," his ritualistic dismissal of the show's losers, became a popular catch-phrase.) His books include Trump: The Art of the Deal (1988), Trump: Surviving at the Top (1990), Trump: The Art of the Comeback (1997) and Trump: How to Get Rich (2004). ..

Extra credit: Trump's nickname is "The Donald"... Trump has three children with his wife Ivana: Donald Jr. (b. 1977), Ivanka (b. 1981) and Eric (b. 1984); he has one daughter with Maples, Tiffany (b. 1993); and he has a son with Knauss, Barron, born in March of 2006... Trump is famous for his objection to handshakes; a 1999 Time magazine article quoted him as saying "I think the handshake is barbaric... Shaking hands, you catch the flu, you catch this, you catch all sorts of things"...

August 20, 2007 -- DONALD Trump wants to try to whip the world's most famous trio of bimbos into shape and save their careers.

The Donald tells Page Six he's talking with Britney Spears about appearing on his upcoming "Celebrity Apprentice," and that Paris Hilton has also expressed an interest in being scrutinized by the mega-mogul. He's also planning to call Lindsay Lohan this week to see if she'd be willing to try to salvage her plummeting career on the show.

"We're negotiating with Britney right now. Can you imagine her doing it?" Trump told Page Six. "We're not sure what will happen. She's a [bleep]ing mess. And that little reality show she had did nothing. But she likes the idea of being on television and I think she'd be great." Hilton, he adds, "wants to be on, and we're thinking about it, but I don't know if we're going to do it."

And Lohan? "Another [bleep]ing mess. We haven't asked her yet, but I'm going to call her this week. It would a positive thing for her to do . . . for all of them," he says.

Hilton's spokesman, Mike Sitrick, said he wasn't aware of any deal but acknowledged that Trump and Paris's father, Rick Hilton, are friends. Reps for Spears and Lohan didn't get back to us.

In the meantime, Trump says he's already signed an eye-popping list of A-listers, B-listers and has-beens to be subjected to his notorious "You're Fired" treatment.

They include: Jim Cramer, Carmen Electra, Joan Rivers, Naomi Judd, George Foreman, original "Apprentice" villain Amorosa, Kimora Lee Simmons, Pete Rose, Dana Patrick, Tony Hawk and Jeff Gordon.

"There are more than a hundred others who want to be on the show," Trump said.

One big name who definitely won't appear is Rosie O'Donnell, who slung mud with Trump when she was on "The View." After Trump recently said he'd consider having her on, her rep shot back, "It will not happen in this lifetime or beyond."

In the celebrity version of "The Apprentice," the stars will raise money for various charities during the competition in which they vie to work for Trump.

How To Get More FREE Traffic.

TOP Three Strategies For Success With The Search Engines

If I had a nickel for every email I received from a customer asking how to get better results from the search engines, I’d have… well, I’d have a WHOLE lot of nickels!!

In fact, it seems I’m constantly being grilled about the latest, greatest strategies for driving the MAXIMUM number of FREE visitors to your site.

But honestly, I’m really glad so many of you are paying attention to the search engines…

… because you’re SEVEN TIMES more likely to get a visitor through the organic (free) search engines than through a pay-per-click ad!

You can’t afford NOT to spend as much time as possible improving your site’s overall search engine performance.

With that in mind, here are my TOP THREE recommendations for improving your free traffic using the search engines…

Search Results Strategy #1: Speak your visitors’ language

No, I don’t mean English, Spanish, or Russian!

When I say you should speak your visitors’ language, I mean you should use the exact words and phrases they use to search for your products or services!

I can’t TELL you how many times I see people building their sites around the words THEY themselves use to describe what they’re selling, even going so far as to optimize their sites using the name of the product!

Why is that a problem?

Well, let’s say you sell the "GutterClear 3000," a tool that comes in pretty handy to clean out all the gunk in your gutters without ever having to get up on a ladder.

Now, let’s say there are thousands of people out there looking for a really cool tool for hands-free (and ladder-free) gutter cleaning.

Do you think they’re all going to sit down in front of Google and type "GutterClear 3000"?

Not likely, right? Chances are, they’re going to describe what they’re trying to accomplish, or what problem they’re trying to solve ("gutter cleaning tool," "clean gutters without ladder," etc).

So even though you’ve got the #1 spot on Google for "GutterClear 3000," the product remains unsold, because nobody is using that word to find it!

And please, never assume. Use a good keyword research tool, like Wordtracker or Keyword Discovery, to be sure you’ve identified the EXACT words your potential customers are using to find you!

Search Results Strategy #2: Make sure your pages are search engine friendly

Once you’ve done your keyword research, and understand how your customers are searching for you, you can use that information to create a site that will appeal to the search engine spiders, which, in turn, will improve your rankings.

The higher your site appears on the results page, the GREATER the chances that people will click on it!

So be sure you use your keywords in your:

Title tag — This is the title of your site that usually appears in the actual search engine results. Search engine spiders often look at the title tag FIRST to understand what your site is about.
That makes the title tag one of the best ways to appeal to both potential visitors and search engines at the same time!

Headline and subhead — By including your main keywords in your headline and subheads, and wrapping them in tags, you’ll be tipping off the search engines that the site’s content reflects what’s in the heads and subheads, which is an SEO plus.
At the same time, by displaying your best keywords in the headline and subheads, your visitors will see that they’ve come to the right place the second they land on your page… and be more likely to stick around.

Salescopy — Because the search engines "crawl" your site looking for information about how to categorize your site, and also check to see how relevant your copy is, you want to make sure you include your keywords in the site’s copy.
But don’t get carried away! Search engines can tell when you’re cramming your site full of words JUST to get better rankings, and will penalize you for it… and you want to be sure your site actually makes sense to your visitors!

Meta tags — Your description meta tag normally contains the "blurb" that appears with the link to your site on the search results.
Your keyword meta tag contains your strongest keywords relevant to each page.

Neither of these, on their own, will be enough to improve your site’s rankings, but when done properly, they help give the search engines a more accurate ’snapshot’ of what your site is about.

Image (alt) tags — Search engines can’t "read" images, but they can read the text that you use to describe the images.
This descriptive text, called an "alt" tag, is one more way to add multiple strong keywords to your site, again increasing your overall chances of being categorized for that particular term.

Another way to use your keywords is in the way you ORGANIZE the pages in your site.

Make sure that all of the information or products on a page are related or relevant. The LAST thing you want to do is confuse the search engine spiders with a mish mash of words on any given page that don’t make any sense together.

At this point, it’s pretty clear that it’s the WORDS on your site that give you the overall competitive edge when it comes to your search engine rankings, so resist the urge to "fancy" sites by using Flash, tons of graphics, or other unnecessary elements.

The more clearly you spell out what your site is about by using your keywords, the better your chances of raising to the TOP of the results page!

Search Engine Strategy #3: Keep your site up-to-date

Like death and taxes, it’s INEVITABLE that your site optimization will change… and what’s working today may not get you ANY results three months from now.

That’s because, over time, people, markets, search trends, and even keywords change…

… so it’s crucial that you constantly monitor your top keywords, and make changes to your site as necessary, in order to maintain your dominant position in the search results.

You should be setting aside time every WEEK to make sure that you’re still optimized for the best keywords!

And if you CAN’T seem to find the time each week to do this, then consider hiring someone to help. Trust me: it’s an investment that should MORE than pay for itself with increased traffic and sales!

By following these three strategies for maximizing your search engine traffic, you’ll not only improve your search engine rankings, you’ll be able to send more qualified traffic to your site.

Help during a slowing economy

Have last week's developments with the US economy got you
feeling spooked?

I don't blame you! What with the country's second-largest
bank collapse PLUS a government bailout of Fannie Mae AND
Freddie Mac happening in the same WEEK, it's hard to
know what to expect next!

If you're like the other small business owners I know,
I'm willing to bet that, right this minute, you're on the
fence about whether you should continue to invest in
the tools and help you need to start your Internet
business... or whether it's better to save your cash
until things stabilize a bit.

And that's actually why I'm firing off this hasty email...

... because I've just learned about a way you can do
BOTH, as long as you act right away!

A few months ago, Internet marketing guru Derek Gehl
unleashed a powerful business-building system that
gives you all the tools and assistance you need to
start a completely automated, hands-free Internet
business from SCRATCH, including the website, a
salesletter, an online payment system, endless streams
of traffic, and help getting it all set up.

He named it "BeBiz," and since its release, it's gone
on to become the most simple yet comprehensive way for
"newbies" to go from zero to online profits in as
short a time span as possible (often in as little as
5 days!).

Well, just moments ago, Derek informed me and a few
of his other close associates that, in order to give
as many people as possible a leg up during this
volatile economy, he's going to WAIVE the entire
$177 BeBiz start-up fee for new members!

Unfortunately, there's a catch...

Due to the amount of money he could potentially lose
with this offer, he can only make it available to the
next 200 people who get in touch with him...

... so I urge you to follow this link contact him right
away:

http://www.marketingtips.com/bebiz/special/t/893424

Trust me: you do NOT want to let this opportunity pass
you by!

Where ELSE will you get a professional-looking sales
website that could have you earning profits by this
time next month (along with an Internet marketing genius
looking over your shoulder and guiding you as you
set it up)?

Best wishes for your business,

Shahzarimin

P.S. During the initial BeBiz launch, Derek made 250
spots available, and they were all snapped up in mere
hours -- and that was WITH the regular $177 start-up
fee -- so you can just imagine how fast these 200 spots
with NO start-up fees are going to go.

Don't miss out:

Extraction: A typical analysis process begins by extracting all the relevant page content and attributes, including: text, HTML properties, location on page, URL, Title, Meta tags, custom Meta tags, etc. Every such attribute conveys a specific weight to the algorithms that analyzes the data.

Discovery: The extracted data is then scanned through the discovery process in relationship to the proprietary taxonomy and via a dynamic part-of-speech analysis to identify keyword relationships and significance.

Classification: The page and its best matching keywords are classified with their best matching topics, and both keywords and topics are scored for relevancy.
Ranking: The resulting output of keywords and topics are then ranked, based not only on keyword and topic relevancy but on other parameters as well. These parameters include: topic and keyword conversion rate and click-through rate, advertisement CTR, advertisement conversion and revenue potential.

Self-Learning Optimization: The self-learning and tuning module automatically performs yield management and optimization. This process is based on real-time analysis of user reactions to specific keywords, topics, and ads as they relate to specific web pages and topics. In Text Ad impressions are then re-distributed in order to assign more impressions to the keywords that are performing better. This self-learning stage completes the cycle of Kontera´s contextual advertising technology granting it its unique competitive edge.

what is Blogger in Draft? - participate now!

Blogger is in the process of upgrading its blog functions.

extracts as written in draft version.

Blogger in draft is a special version of Blogger where we try out new features before releasing them to everyone. Think of it as our sandbox, or laboratory, or just “Blogger + new things.” By taking your feedback and looking at what works and what doesn’t, we’ll be able to make features that much better when releasing them to everyone.

How can I use Blogger in draft? How can I stop using Blogger in draft?
To try out Blogger in draft, just go to http://draft.blogger.com/ and log in. If you want to stop using it and go back to “normal” Blogger, simply log in to http://www.blogger.com/ instead. Your blogs and posts are the same regardless of whether you use Blogger in draft or regular Blogger. The only difference is what you see in the interface

new tools are introduced for example -

1. New Post Editor
2. Webmaster Tools
3. Star Ratings
4. Import / Export
5. Embedded Comment Form
6. Posting Gadget
7. New Dashboard
8. Google Gadgets
9. Search Box

Among Recent Comments received :

*The Edit HTML tab no longer has the toolbar (add images, bold, blockquote, etc.). I HOPE this is temporary!

*Error when exporting..."The feed specified by http://draft.blogger.com/feeds/1566557705611406621/archive is not enabled"

*In the export file in comments, email addresses for Blogger profiles are being exposed in the email tag, even when the profile is hidden and/or the email addy is set to be not shown, instead of the noreply@blogger.com placeholder.I suspect that's not the desired behavior.

*The addthis bookmark still don't work when my 30th June(the one posted with the new editor) is the first post displayed or in its own page.

*I'm sorry but there's no way I'm adding the Blog List template. I don't have time to manually type in every single blog link. Can you please give us the option to "select all" without having to type in all our fave blogs? I'm sure some people have hundreds of sites. Thanks!

*Very weird, my addthis bookmark button comes back after I used the old editor to post a new post. However, the extra spacing is still here.

*Hi There was 5 sizes of text now there are only 4 and the normal size is no longer normalCan you bring it back please ?

*On images: Pics aren't centered properly, and they're missing borders.I like the multi-upload function better than the old one. Also like the resize-bar. Good additions.

*No idea what made it finally work, but I put the span class=fullpost back in, and it worked perfectly! If you did something, thanks. If not, who is messing with me?

*Verification image don't show in Firefox 3.

Adsense Income so far

So far..adsense income for this month (June) has reach $14.32 cents. i've decided to take blogging more seriously, besides continuing my marketing in forums. I'm a regular in these forums ;

www.Rolexforums.com,
www.Watchuseek.com,
www.acousticguitarforum.com used to be www.taylorguitarforum.com,
www.expatforum.com,
www.thewallflowers.com (my music)

www.amazon.com - [discussion board]
and members of numerous marketing and affiliate forum

last few days i registered with
www.malaysianbloggers.com (thats where i decided to take this blog thing more seriuosly)- actually i've read newspaper interview of the owner of the 5Xmom. She said she earn around 3,000 monthly from blogging! .........

i have my own blog as early as in 2003 when i took livejournal.com through my friend, Jullienne from the philippine suggestions, at that time you got to be referred to before you can register your own journal/blog. I remember Saveeya (my friend from Thailand) who refered me to livejournal.com. that's when i started blogging. i write and share mostly in form of diaries on my personal stuff(its a secret-lah!)

Imagine if i maintain consistency since then. I may have been like paultan.org, well not in terms of his interest and valuable knowlegde in cars, i may have written about music or graphics or just wallflowers.

for your information, Jullienne is a PC Philipphine Journalist, i think she's the editor now. Phew, time flies so fast, we've met each other in the Wallflowers discussion board. She seldoms fly to Kuala Lumpur, Singapore attending conferences.and it's been about 7+ years since then

My point is, decide what you want to do and be consistence. In Islam the whole concept is call 'Istiqamah'. Which i have a ready article waiting to be published on this topic. Just got to take my pendrive which i left in the car.

Oh by the way, while my Adsense income may not skyrocket overnight, but it will gradually increase along with my posting.

i got a lot to tell and share...
